KARACHI: A recklessly driven water tanker ran over and killed two men off National Highway on Friday, police said.

Shah Latif Town SHO Sadaruddin Mirani told Dawn that two men were riding a motorcycle when the tanker hit them near Sheedi village. They sustained critical injuries and were shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre where doctors pronounced them dead.

The victims were identified as Munir Ahmed, 25, and Kamran Siddig, 28.

The driver responsible for the accident managed to speed away.
