KARAK: Opposition leader in the district council and JUI-F leader Maulana Mirzaqeem has claimed that a vote of no-confidence would be tabled in the council against the district nazim soon. He claimed that they had acquired the required strength against the nazim.
He was addressing a press conference here on Thursday, which was also attended by party`s district general secretary Maulana Zahoor Ahmad.
The opposition leader claimed that they had the support of required 19 district councillors to remove the district nazim, Dr Umer Daraz, from his seat. He said that they would present the councillors before media at a suitable time.
He alleged that the district nazim had failed to distribute the development funds judiciously among members of the council, especially those belonging to the opposition.
The JUI-F leader claimed that they gave sufficient time to the district nazim to improve his performance, but he had adopted the policy of divide and rule.
He said that his own party members were also no more ready to support the nazim. He added that they were under pressure and answerable to their voters in their respective constituencies.
Maulana Mirzaqeem raised questions on the performance of the district government and said that they had been left with no other option, but to elect a new nazim to put the district on the path of progress.
