2015-08-07
MUZAFFARABAD: A teenage boy was killed and another one was injured in an explosion of what officials said was a `toy bomb` in Neelum valley of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) on Thursday.

Sajawat, 13, son of Ibrahim, and his contemporary at school, Akhlag, son of Abdul Rehman, found the `toy bomb`in Kali Gatti village, off Subhai Doodnial, around 125 kilometres northeast of the capital city in the upper belt of Neelum valley, police official Mohammad Farooq told Dawn from the area by telephone.

The toy bomb exploded, killing Sajwat on the spot and critically injuring Akhlag, he added.

He was being treated at a military run health facility in the area.

The incident with the duo was not something new to the people living along the Line of Control, which had been the scene of regular skirmishes and artillery duels until Indian and Pakistani troops struck a historic ceasefire in November 2003.
