MUZAFFARGAH: A man killed his wife and two daughters for honour on Thursday at Mohalla Ghausia at Sarwar Shaheed Chowk, some 80-km from here.

Police said Ijaz`s daughter Saba eloped with a man three years back. A few days back, some relatives brought the couple back for reconciliation.

On Thursday, Ijaz opened fire at his wife Kishwar Bibi and daughters Saba and Mubeen, killing them on the spot.

District Police Officer Awais Ahmed said police had arrested Ijaz and he confessed to his crime.

ILLEGAL SHOPSRAZED: The tehsil municipal administration on Thursday razed several illegal shops during an anti-encroachment drive and had more than 20 shopkeepers arrested in Muzaffargarh.

Additional District Collector Usman Khalid and City DSP Ihsanullah Shad along with TMA staff demolished dozens of illegalshops andkiosks.

He alleged that some politicians tried to pressurise him into stopping the clean-up campaign but he called police and carried out the operation. He said the action was taken on the orders of DCO Hafiz Shaukat Ali. He said some traders offered resistance but the team completed the task.
