HYDERABAD (Deccan): `Do not be perturbed by the false news and propaganda broadcast by the All-India Radio. The Hyderabad Government have lodged a strong protest against this war of nerves launched by the Government of India against us,` observed Mir Laik Ali, Prime Minister of Hyderabad, in an appeal to the people of Hyderabad tonight [Aug 6]. Mir Laik Ali continues: `... I would request every Hyderabadi not to pay any heed to these rumours. We are passing through difficult times but there are certain self-seeking elements which are bent upon disrupting our unity.

Hyderabad today needs internal peace.

The Prime Minister ridiculed the reports that the Razakars had taken the law entirely into their hands and that a situation over which the Nizam had lost control had been developing too seriously for the Government of India to remain any longer indifferent to it. Mir Laik Ali said that no such situation ever existed in the state. He also gave the lie to rumours that HEH the Nizam had instructed Sir Mirza Ismail behind the back of the Hyderabad Cabinet to carry on negotiations with the Government of India.
