RAWALPINDI: A man and a woman died in a firearmrelated incident in Bahria Town Phase II on Thursday.

Initial reports from Rescue 1122 suggest `the husband may have shot the woman before taking his life`.

However, the final circumstances of the incident will be determined after the police investigation.

After the incident was reported, Rescue 1122 teams reached the scene and, after taking necessary action, shifted the bodies of both individuals to Polyclinic Hospital for further legal formalities after the completion of the police action.

The deceased have been identified as Naveed Jan Durrani, 40, and Dil Naz Begum, 48. Both suffered firearm injuries, Rescue 1122 said.

Meanwhile, after another incident of violence against a citizen, allegedly by Dolphin force personnel, came to light, the City Police Officer has ordered an inquiry.

A police spokesman said that CPO Hassan Mushtaq Sukhera has taken notice of the complaint of violence against a citizen by Dolphin personnel and ordered ASP Newtown to conduct an inquiry and submit a report.

CPO said that if the allegations are proven true in the inquiry, strict departmental action will be taken; illtreatment or violence against any citizen will not be tolerated. Earlier, a police official and his two accomplices were arrested on Wednesday after an inquiry found that allegations of kidnapping and extortion against them were proven.
