Three injured for playing PTI song

SAHIWAL: PML-N activists shot at and injured three Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) supporters for playing their party song during a cricket tournament in village 167/9-L, Chichawatni.

Muhammad Shahid, Tanvir Husain and Muhammad Athar were injured and were being treated at the Chichawatni Tehsil Headquarters Hospital.

Dawn learned that during the tournament match, organisers ran PTI songs using the public address system. Another team loyal to the PML-N objected to the song, and started firing with pistols.

Ghaziabad police have yet to tal(e action.

SUICIDE: A six class student allegedly 1(illed himself by hanging with a ceiling fan on Wednesday in Noor Shah.

The boy, the family said, was dejected af ter he had been accused of stealing Rs150 from the classroom.

Noor Shah police said the family refused to takeany action.

HERO BURIED: Frontier Constabulary (FC) personnel Maqsood Ahmed Bhatti, who was martyred in Panjgur on Sept 4, was laid to rest in his ancestral graveyard in village 38/EB, Arifwala, on Wednesday. Bhatti was martyred with Lt-Col Amir Waqar and five other FC personnel when their convoy came under attack in Shangar, Panjgur. He was buried with full military honours.

Bhatti leaves behind a widow, two sons and one daughter.

CASE: Fateh Sher police arrested three people for intimidating a private school`s management on Wednesday.

The accused asked the school administration to close the school and send students to a rally.

The district administration had not allowed the rally because of security concerns.

The arrested people included Umer, Ali Hasan and Naqash while a case was also registered against 10 unidentified people.
