Seven booked for manhandling Lesco recovery team

OKARA: Seven people allegedly manhandled a Lahore Electric Supply Company`s team for disconnecting power supply to the house of a `defaulter` family here on Wednesday at village 28/2-L.
Karamanwala Lesco team comprising lineman Abdullah Nasim, three assistant linemen Muhammad Ali, Shahbaz and Haider Ali Shah visited the house of Iqtadar Ali Khan for recovery of four-month dues. The defaulter family comprising Muhammad Zubair, Junaid and Rafaqat Ali, sons of Iqtadar, and four others allegedly beat up the Lesco team.
Later, on the report of assistant manager (operation) Irfan Ali Masood, Saddar Okara police registered a caseagainst seven suspects under sections 506, 186, 148 and 149 of PPC.
BOOKED: Nearly 43-53 suspects were booked for allegedly razing houses of a poor family at village 40/3-R on Wednesday.
According to the FIR registered on the complaint of resident Jaffar Ali, 13 villagers [nominated] Jaffar, Imran, Dilshad, Saddique, Zafar Ali, Tariq, Khadim, Qasim, Liaqat, Asghar, Noor Ahmad and Mian Khan along with 30-40 unidentified men riding tractor-trolleys came to the village on Tibba Vanor Road and allegedly razed houses of a poor family to grab the piece of land [because of increased value] which the `assailants` had sold 30 years back.
The case was registered under sections 427, 379, 448 and 511 of PPC.
