NAWABSHAH, Oct 6: Pakistan Muslim League-N chief Mian Nawaz Sharif has said that he is disappointed in President Asif Zardari because his government has done nothing for masses during last three and a half years.
Addressing a gathering organised by former MPA Dr Bahadur Dahiri in Doulatpur on Thursday, Mr Sharif said that people were suffering 16hour loadshedding and he would continue to raise voice against injustices.
`We will take further steps against loadshedding if need be,`he said.
He said that rain-affected in Sindh should be given at least Rs100,000. He had asked the prime minister during last year`s floods it was the least government should give but it gave only Rs25,000 per family, he said.
There would be no use of giving Rs10,000 to people who had lost their loved ones, homes, crops and property, he said, adding that rural areas of Sindh were being intentionally pushed into poverty.
Mr Sharif said the public money should be spent on public and not on one individual alone. PML-N would bring about a revolution with the support of people against loadshedding, poverty and price hike, he said.
He said Musharraf was a coward and he (Nawaz Sharif) was brave and liked brave people. Musharraf attempted to hang him and kept him away from his homeland but he faced his trial bravely and now world could see Musharraf had run away and he was in the country, he said.
He said that PML-N government carried out an operation cleanup against dacoits in Sindh and if it returned to power it would clean the province of dacoits through a similar operation.
He criticised the government`s claims about providing relief and said that PML-N and Punjab government had distributed 625 trucks loaded with 5,000 tons of ration in 12 districts of the province.
Earlier, the former prime minister visited Sharif TentCity set up by his party and other relief camps in Qazi Ahmed and adjoining towns of the district, met with rainaffected people and distributed relief goods.
Our Dadu correspondent adds: Addressing a public gathering and the rainaffected people at a tent city in Dadu, Mian Nawaz Sharif said that people of Sindh were suffering but power game in Islamabad was continuing unabated where one party was joining the government and the other was leaving.
He said that load shedding and prices of oil and gas were on the increase. He said the PML-N would distribute ration among people for five months and appealed to people to support the party.
He said that he would eradicate illiteracy, unemployment and poverty and give justice to people. The government should help farmers in cultivating land after rainwater receded and waive their loans, he said.
Mr Sharif urged the government to declare Dadu as calamity-hit district and said the government should spent money on people which it was collecting through taxes.
He was accompanied by PML-N leaders Syed Ghous Ali Shah, Saleem Zia and Rana Sanaullah during the visit.
Mr Sharif`s was provided security by the Punjab government looked after by Punjab Home Minister Rana Sanaullah.
Meanwhile, four journalists suffered injuries when security guards used batons to control them. Journalist Wali Mohammad Chandio, Khalid Babar were injured and Nizam Shaikh and Qurban Memon received bruises.
Journalists boycotted the event and held a meeting at the press club, which announced boycott of all events of PML-N in protest.
Meanwhile, Mian Nawaz Sharif offered condolence to the president of his party`s women wing Soorath Thebo on the death of her brother Sarwar Ahmed Thahim who died recently of cardiac arrest.
