BADIN: Devotees from different parts of the province started converging on the shrine of revered Sufi saint Syed Saman Shah ‘Sarkar’ lovingly called Laar Jo Lal near Pangrio town to celebrate the saint’s 86th Urs celebrations on Friday.

The shrine is famous for the sacrifice of roosters, which are offered by devotees as an offering to fulfil their vows.

Markets for camels, bulls, horses and donkeys are set up on the sidelines of the Urs and vendors of different food items and souvenirs install makeshift stalls heavily decorated with buntings to attract visitors during the Urs festivities.

Sindh Minister for Home Sohail Anwer Siyal was scheduled to arrive at the shrine to officially inaugurate the Urs on Sunday by laying a floral wreath on the grave of Sufi saint, said an official.
