LAHORE: The Punjab government is going to launch ‘Livestock Card’ for farmers on Dec 15.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on Wednesday directed the authorities to start this scheme for the livestock farmers in Punjab.
“Punjab farmers will be on the path of development and progress after the launch of this unprecedented project. Registration for the livestock card has started. 80,000 farmers across Punjab will benefit from the project,” she said and added through the Livestock Card, one could purchase ‘Wanda’, mineral mixture and silage from registered dealers.
“Cattle farmers will be able to get an interest-free loan of Rs27,000 per animal. They will be able to get an interest-free loan of up to Rs270,000 for their cattle. Livestock farmers will get loan in four months equal installments. Payment of loan will start after four months. Livestock farmers can register for the said card by visiting the nearest veterinary hospital.”—Staff Reporter
