Two die, 13 injured in three fog-related road accidents

TOBA TEK SINGH: At least two men died and 13 others injured seriously in three road accidents occurring because of poor visibility caused by dense fog on Tuesday.

In the first incident, two motorcycles collided with a tractor-trolley laden with sugarcane parked near Bootay Wali Jhaal on Jarranwala-Satiana Road, Faisalabad.

According to Rescue 1122 of ficials, the deceased were identified as Ehsan Sattar (27) and Sabir Hussain (41), while the injured persons -Qamar Zaman (25), Khalid Pervaiz (26), Younis (36) and Naseer Sarwar (20)-were shifted to the DHQ hospital.

The officials said the deceased and injured persons belonged to the same family and resided at Chak 90-GB, Jarranwala. Theysaid the accident occurred because of poor visibility causedbyheavyfog.

Similarly, a passenger van hit a sugarcane-laden tractor-trolley from its rear side on Jhang-Faisalabad Road near Chiniot Road turn. As a result, four van passengers were critically wounded and were rushed to the Jhang DHQ hospital.

Meanwhile, the driver of a private school`s van, along with four students, was injured critically when the vehicle overturned and fell into a roadside pond after colliding head-on with a car near Pathananwala Chowk on JarranwalaNankana Road because of dense fog.

Van driver Mahmood Ahmad (28) and four students Abdullah Waheed (15), Premsha Asif (15), Ayesha Parveen (16) and Umar Sher (5), who were injured, were shifted to Jarranwala THQ hospital.

All the injured are residents of Chak 236-GB.
