ISLAMABAD: To enhance bilateral relations between Pakistan and Iraq, Senate Chairman Mohammad Sadiq Sanjrani reached the capital of Iraq, Baghdad, on Wednesday with a high-profile delegation of senators.

As per a statement, the delegation was warmly received by the Undersecretary of the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mohammed Hussein Mohammed Bahr-Aluloom, along with senior officials of the Iraqi Parliament.

During Mr Sanjrani`s stay in Iraq, he would be scheduled to engage in meetings with senior Iraqi leadership and parliamentary heads, including the acting speaker of the Iraqi parliament.

The discussions are expected to focus on strengthening diplomatic ties, fostering collaboration on key regional issues, and exploring avenues for mutual cooperation.

Besides, the senate chairman would be paying visits to holy shrines situated in different parts of Iraq, underscoring the cultural and spiritual connections between the two nations.
