KARACHI: Two suspected robbers were shot dead while their accomplice was wounded and held during an `encounter` in the Korangi Industrial Area on Thursday morning, police said.

They added thatthe three suspects were allegedly looting people, including factory workers, in Sector 15 of the Korangi Industrial Area when police were informed about it at around 7:30am.

As the police arrived and chased the fleeing suspects, they resorted to firing at the officials. In the ensuing encounter, all the three suspects were wounded and arrested, said Korangi Industrial Area SHO Abdul Rasool Siyal.

They were taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre where doctors declared two of them dead on arrival, while their wounded accomplice was admitted for treatment.

One of the deceased was identified as Qasim and the wounded suspect was identified as Inayat Ali, the officials said.

The police claimed to have seized a motorbike, four mobile phones, two pistols and other valuables from their custody.
