LAHORE: An anti-terrorism court on Thursday issued warrants for the arrest of the investigating officer of Sarwar Road police for not presenting a report about the record retrieved from the “black box” of a private airline’s plane.
The court also extended judicial remand of pilot Asmat Mahmood till Jan 14.
On the previous hearing, police had submitted challan of the case declaring the pilot guilty of the charges.
The pilot was mainly charged with putting lives of the passengers at risk by crash-landing the plane while being drunk.
Asmat Mahmood had crash-landed a plane of Shaheen Airline at Allama Iqbal International Airport on Nov 3 under the influence. Sarwar Road police had arrested the pilot from his Karachi residence.
