LAHORE: An anti-terrorism court has issued notices to the Ganda Singhwala station house officer and the prosecution department on acquittal applications of three suspects involved in a child abuse scandal in Kasur.

Suspects Arshad, Ashfaq and Ibrahim pleaded through their counsel that police implicated them in the case merely on government`s pressure.

They denied having any role in the alleged incidents of child abuse, saying police failed to establish charges against them during the investigation. They asked the court to acquit them for being innocent.

The court heard the contention and issued notices to police and the prosecution for Jan 11.
