Artificial rain hazards

2024-01-08
RECENTLY, the government experimented with artificial, chemicalinducedraininLahore aspartofefforts to control the seasonal smog. As a result, a partial drizzle was reported in a few parts of the city.

Subsequently, the authorities issued a statement that the option was a solution to overcome the problem of smog. However, no proper studyis available regarding the side effects of this chemicalinduced rain over the health of the masses, especially those upon whom the rain fell, and who were in direct contact with the water drops that owed their life to some chemical reaction.

Besides, it is still vague as to what quantity of such water is safe for the humans as well as flora and fauna of a particular geographical area. It is not known how many times we can use this technology to curb, control and suppress the particles, and for how long a single spell is expected to remain effective.

Artificial rain surely brings some improvement in air quality, but its frequent use may destroy the ecosystem of the city. In the past, frequent tinkering with nature by mankind resulted in the climate disasters that we are facing now locally, regionally and globally. We should move with caution.
