MANSEHRA: There is a high likelihood of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf fielding PML-N federal minister Sardar Yousuf`s son and former MNA Sardar Shahjehan Yousuf for the upcoming general elections in NA-20, Mansehra.

`We are in contact with Sardar Shahjehan to convince him to contest the NA-20 elections as our candidate in place of former candidate Senator Azam Khan Swati, who is no more in the running due to health problems,` political adviser to chief minister Zargul Khan told reporters here on Wednesday.

PML-N MNA Sardar Mohammad Yousuf had defeated PTI`s Azam Swati in the 2013 general elections in NA-20.

Mr Zargul, who is part of the party`s parliamentary board tasked with issuing tickets for the next polls, said Azam Swati was the PTI candidate for NA-20 in the 2013 elections but he won`t contest next elections after his nomination for a Senate seat.

`Our talks with Mr Shahjehan are almost over. He is our likely candidate for the coming elections from NA-20,` he said.

The CM adviser also said Babar Saleem Swati was in the running for PTI election ticket in PK-53, former MPA Mazhar Ali Qasim, tehsil nazim Ibrahim Shah and Mushtaq Khan in PK-54, he, former minister Shahzada Gustasab Khan and Zahid Chenzeb in PK-55, MPA Wajiuzzaman Khan in PK-56 and MPA Mohammad Ibrar Tanoli, Nawabzada Fareed and Rafiq Tanoli in PK-57.

FINED: Twenty-two hoteliers and milk sellers were fined in College Doraha, Thakra and Larri Adda areas here on Wednesday for selling unhygienic and contaminated goods.

The action was taken by a joint team of the tehsil municipal administration and police during a surprise visit.

TMA inspector (sanitation) Mohammad Siddique, who led the team, warned that crackdown on the hoteliers not ensuring cleanliness on the premises and outside and shopkeepers selling unclean and unhygienic foods would continue.
