CHITRAL: Body of Ubaidullah, son of a PTCL employee, was recovered from the mass of snow avalanche in Matti Khor area of Lowari Pass here on Wednesday afternoon after a hectic search of five days.

PTCL employee Anwaruddin and his son Ubaidullah had been buried under the snow avalanche five days ago while ascending Lowari Pass in order to repair a phone tower.

Ashurate police SHO Abdul Muzaffar Khan told this scribe that Ubaid`s body was found at a place far from that of his father`s and with its recovery the search operadon had come to an end. The local police, Rescue 1122, Chitral Scouts and volunteers took part in the operation.

PROJECT INAUGURATED: Malakand division commissioner Syed Mazharul Islam laid foundation stone of the of fices of Chitral Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Denin area and emphasized importance of the area in the coming days due to completion of Lowari tunnel project.

He appreciated the chamber`s president Sartaj Ahmed for organising the traders in Chitral. Mr Ahmed said that the flash floods and earthquake in 2015 had badly damaged the local economy and it was a challenge to reinvigorate it. He said that the chamber was preparing the community to rise to the occasion once the CPEC routewascompleted.-Correspondent
