SWABI: Speakers at a protest demonstration here on Wednesday demanded justice for the family of Nageebullah Mehsud and said that Pakhtuns were peace-loving people and they should be given due respect in the country.
Organised by Pakhtun Tahaffuz Movement, leaders of various political parties participated in the protest.
They said that Pakhtuns had rendered countless sacrifices for independence of the country and afterwards. They condemned the murder of Nageebullah Mehsud, saying that his only crime was that he was a Pakhtun.
Jamaat-i-Islami provincial chief Mustaq Ahmad Khan said that his party would support those fighting for the rights of Pakhtuns. He said that it was responsibility of the rulers to work for creating an environment where all the communities were fully respected.
Swabi tehsil nazim Wahid Shah said that Pakhtuns had been mistreated in other parts of the country. Qaumi Watan Party activist Fayaz Ali said that history was testament to the fact that wars had always been imposed on Pakhtuns and they were forced to fight for their survival. Correspondent
