ISLAMABAD: Capital Development Authority (CDA) has started construction work on access roads and additional loops adjacent to F-8/G-8 underpass on Jinnah Avenue to give access tobothsectors.

`These access roads and loops would be constructed through in-house resources and directions were issued to MPO Directorate to start immediate work. Acting upon the directions, machinery in this context has been mobilised and work initiated,` said a statement issued by CDA.

It stated that the decision aims to reduce traffic congestion on Jinnah Avenue and both sectors.

The underpass was not being utilised properly due to non existence of access to and from Jinnah Avenue as a result of which commuters have to use G-9 junction on the avenue to enter F-8 and G-8 which is the main cause of traffic congestion.

The chairman has directed that work on these roads should be completed by next week, it stated. Staff Reporter
