Royal Solution stamps supremacy with resounding win

LAHORE: Three-year-old bay colt Royal Solution stamped his superiority over his rivals to bag the Sheilch Zaheer Aslam Memorial Cup during the 23rd Lahore Winter meeting at the Racecourse here on Sunday.

The Syed Sibghatullah Shah-owned and Shahid Rehman-trained Royal Solution stormed home to take up the lead while entering in to the straight before collaring front-running filly Taksim Square to win the 1,200-metre race by four lengths with colt Rashk third another, four lengths back while the 80-100 favourite colt AlKhalid put up a dismal show to complete the frame.

Jockey Aftab Chaudhry piloted the winner.

The supporting feature event, the Yasoob Again Cup class VI handicap race run over 1,200 metres was won by chestnut Pockets. Ridden by jockey Tahir Abbas and trained by A.B. Malik the Fazeel Asif Jah-owned chestnut was installed a 30-100 favourite and he justified his rating by registering a seven length success over bay colt Young Gun with Ibram Prince third.
