The outpatient departments (OPDs) in most government hospitals in Balochistan remained closed due to Young Doctors Association (YDA) strike recently. While the two parties failed to make any progress in negotiations, the patients had to face the brunt of the impasse. The government would do well to find a way to reopen the OPDs in suchsituations,and the doctors on their part should show some empathy as well.
