2017-03-08
PESHAWAR: Anti-Narcotics Force and Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) representatives on Tuesday agreed to convene a joint meeting of relevant departments and law enforcement agencies to remove the reservations of exporters about checking of their consignments.

The decision was taken at a meeting here wherein the chamber president Haji Mohammad Afzal briefed the ANF team headed by its director Brig Muddasir about the concerns of exporters, and suggested one-time checking of the export goods at the Peshawar dry port so the packaging was not affected.

According to a statement, it was decided that another meeting would be convened wherein representatives of exporters, clearing agents, customs department and ANF would discuss these issues.

The ANF team assured the business community of extending full cooperation in checking of the goods and urged the SCCI to cooperate in control of narcotics smuggling and creating awareness among drug addicts.—Bureau Report
