LAHORE: Raul Laplacette led a stirring fightback for FG Polo, scoring five times in the fifth chukker to help his side overcome a five-goal deficit and claim a stunning 9-8 win over Master Paints/Diamond Paints in the semi-final of the Third President of Pakistan Polo Cup National Open Championship at the Jinnah Polo Fields on Thursday.

The finalwas in sight for Master Paints/Diamond Paints, who held an 8-4 lead at the end of the fourth chukker thanks to five goals by Ammirreza Behboudi and three by Sufi Mohammad Haroon.

FG Polo`s goals before the fifth chukker had come thanks to Mian Abbas Mukhtar`s brace and one each by Raja Mikayal Sami and Laplacette.

But Laplacette increased his tally to a remarkable six by the end to floor their opponents and seal a spot in Sunday`s final.-Sports Reporter
