Amendments to vehicles ordinance approved

QUETTA: The Balochistan Assembly`s Standing Committee on Transport on Friday approved amendments to the Provincial Motor Vehicles Ordinance 1965.
The committee`s meeting, presided over by its chairman Engineer Zamrak Khan Achakzai, reviewed the Provincial Motor Vehicles Balochistan (Amendment) Bill 2025 aimed at improving road safety, infrastructure protection, and enhancing the transportation system.
The 2025 bill, approved by the committee, reduced overloading fines for public transport and goods carriers by 50 per cent, even for repeated violations. The bill will now be tabled in the Balochistan Assembly for approval.
Mr Achakzai thanked all members for their valuable suggestions. Sardarzada Faisal Jamali, Fazal Qadir Mandokhail, Barkat Ali Rind, Parliamentary Secretary for Transport Mir Liaquat Lehri, Assembly Secretary Tahir Shah Kakar, Special Secretary Abdul Rehman and Transport Secretary Hayat Kakar attended the meeting.
