THE Sindh Public Service Commission (SPSC) has successfully achieved all milestones of incompetence. Irregularities in examinations and corrupt practices in the SPSC are nothing new.
However, in recent times, the SPSC has set new records of the undesirable variety.
Not a single test conducted by the SPSC was held without controversy surrounding it.
The SPSC of ficials have been routinely exposed by the media. The children of influential people find it easy to make their way to provincial bureaucracy by availing the `services` of the SPSC.
Meanwhile, the meritorious candidates f ail to get allocation twice and in some cases a qualifier does not get an allocation even af ter qualif ying the examinations for the straight fourth time.
The interview result of CCE-2019 has not been announced yet. The standards of the SPSC have fallen so low that it cannot even set one MCQ-based test properly. The screening test of CCE-21 and test of lectureship bear witness to this simple fact.
The government, if it is interested in saving the future of its youth, should ensure merit in recruitment. This can only be achieved byhaving checks and balances at the SPSC.
