SOUTH WAZIRISTAN: A vibrant literary gathering was held in the lush valley of Wana that attracted a large number of poets and writers.

The annual `Manrey Gul Mushaira` was held under the auspices of Wana Pashto Literary Forum on Monday night. The event was meant to welcome the spring season, promote literary activities and cement ties among poets of South Waziristan Lower and South Waziristan Upper.

The event was presided over by Amin Jan Amin and Israr Wazir jointly. Poets including Umar Shah Koti, Baheer Wazir and Zindawar captivated audience with their poems.

Their poems reflected local culture, traditions and regional identity.Poets also highlighted various aspects of life in South Waziristan Lower. The participants of the event praised the creative talent of poets and applauded their poems.

Poets depicted the beauty of spring and called for peace, prosperity, progress, unity and harmony in their poems. They emphasised the importance of social cohesion at local level and prayed for the prosperity of the people of Waziristan.

They showcased not only the culture of their region but also the importance of peace and brotherhood.

They said that creative abilities could play a significant role in fostering educational and cultural development in the region.

At the conclusion of the Mushaira, poets were encouraged to refine their craft and produce high quality poetry.

The participants of the event said thatpoets should contribute to promotion of brotherhood, unity and progress in the region through their literary works.

They said that such literary events not only enriched the literary world but also serve as a means of intellectual and cultural development for the entire region.

They termed it a successful literary gathering that highlighted the creative abilities of poets and presented Waziristan`s message of peace and prosperity to the world.

They said that the event provided a platform to poets of Waziristan while and underscored the importance of region`s culture and peace.

They added that such gatherings were a symbol of positive change and development in regions like South Waziristan Lower and South Waziristan Upper.
