QUETTA: The Balochistan governor has summoned the budget session of the Balochistan Assembly on May 11, it was announced here on Monday.
The Adviser to the Chief Minister on Finance, Dr Ruquyia Saeed Hashmi, will present the Balochistan budget for the financial year 2018-19 in the assembly.
“Preparation of the budget is in the final stage and it will be for the whole next financial year,” Dr Hashmi told Dawn, adding that the provincial government had decided to prepare the budget for the year 2018-19 and not for three months.
It is learnt that the budget would be around Rs350 billion and maximum amount would be allocated for new development schemes. “Individual nature schemes will not be accepted from lawmakers who could identify such development schemes under MPAs’ funds,” Dr Hashmi said, adding that the government wanted to get rid of all ongoing schemes.—Staff Correspondent
