ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court ordered Bol TV on Monday to deposit Rs100 million within 10 days so that salaries could be paid to the channel’s employees. Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar warned that there would be consequences if the amount was not deposited with the court and said Shoaib Sheikh, the owner of Bol TV, might have to go to jail again.
Earlier, the counsel for Axact, which owns Bol TV, informed the court that the total claim was Rs300m.
CJP Nisar expressed dissatisfaction over the channel’s failure to resolve the dispute with its employees despite the court’s orders and directed it to deposit Rs100m.—Reporter
