FAISALABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) arrested two dozen people hailing from three districts on charges of trying to go abroad illegally.

The detained people belong to Gujranwala, Gujrat and Mandi Bahauddin districts.

The FIA officials said a team checked eight bogies of the Pakistan Express 46 DN at Faisalabad Railway Station. It took 24 illegal emigrants into custody and shifted them to the FIA police station.

The detained people were to be trafficked to Europe via Iran and Turkey, the officials said.—Staff Correspondent
