BADIN: A Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) activist and his several associates were booked in a blackmailing, extortion and harassment case at the Badin police station on Tuesday.
A complaint against the activist, Ghulam Rasool Memon, Nafees Ahmed Memon, Abdullah Mallah, Shujaat Khuwaja and eight unknown suspects was lodged by Moazzam Samoon, a subdivision officer in the public health department posted at Badin.
In his complaint, Mr Samoon alleged that the suspects had long been threatening him with dire consequences and forcing him to come to their terms or face a `damaging public protest against him`.
He said he resisted the suspects` pressure and when he refused to pay any illegal gratification to them, they barged into the water supply station in the city and disturbed him and other employees to hinder the discharge of their official duties.
Police raided several places to arrest the suspects but none of them could be located till late in the evening.
