MUZAFFARGARH: Layyah police on Saturday arrested a school watchman for allegedly trying to assault a class-V girl student.

Police said the 11-yearold girl raised an alarm when watchman `I` allegedly tried to rape her.

On receipt of information, a Cror police team headed by Station House Officer Abid Hussain reached the spot, arrested the suspect and registereda case on the complaint of girl`s f ather.

Layyah District Police Officer Dr Nida Umer Chattha said action would be taken against the suspect and safety of students would be ensured.

RECEPTION: A grand recepdon in connecdon with Eid was held at Layyah Police Lines in the honour of the police personnel who performed security duties at mosques.
