LAKKI MARWAT: The police claimed on Saturday to have arrested a runaway prisoner of Bannu jail during a surprise raid in Takhtikhel area of Lakki Marwat.

An official said an undertrial prisoner, Alamzeb, who was facing charges of murder, attempted murder, theft and robbery, had escaped the police custody while being shifted to a local court from prison in December last.

He said the Saddar police had registered a case against the runaway prisoner and were making efforts to ensure his arrest.
