Speaking on this occasion, Mr Haq said Pakistan was created in the name of Islam with the aim to make it an Islamic welfare state to guarantee citizens` rights. However, he regretted that since independence, no sincere effort was made to realise that dream.Mr Haq claimed that JI was the only political party struggling for making Pakistan a truly Islamic welfare state, where every citizen had fundamental rights.
The JI chief argued that if the Jamaat could secure a simple majority in the National Assembly it would make every sincere effort to turn Pakistan into a welfare state.
The JI chief hoped the party would show good performance in the next general elections if the workers mobilised the masses effectively. He said people had become disappointed with both the previous PTI and the current coalition government due to their poor performances.
He also directed the party`s local leadership to launch a mass contact campaign across the district.
Mr Haq lauded the elders` body for its continued support to JI, especially during the local body elections. Correspondent
