ISLAMABAD: Senate ChairmanSyed Yousuf Raza Gilani has urged the international community to take notice of India`s provocative actions and to play an effective role in ensuring peace and stability in the region.

He said Pakistan is fully prepared to respond to any aggression, and every citizen of the nation stands united with its armed forces. He condemned the cowardly attack by India, calling it a shameful act.

He stated that Indian aggression is not only a serious threat to regional peace and stability, but also a blatant violation of international laws and human rights. The Senate chairman said Pakistan is a peaceful country, but it possesses the capability to respond effectively at all levels toprotectits sovereignty and borders.

Mr Gilani stated that the entire Pakistani nation stood shoulder to shoulder with the armed forces of Pakistan.

`Our brave forces have always made historic sacrifices in the defence of the country`s borders and have given a befitting response to every act of aggression by the enemy,` he said, adding that Pakistan has the full capacity and capability to respond decisively to Indian aggression and any form of provocation.

Meanwhile, President Pakistan Peoples Party Workers Dr Safdar Ali Abbasi and former political assistant to Benazir Bhutto, Naheed Khan strongly condemned the cowardly Indian missile attack on civilian areas, urging the international community to intervene before it is too late.
