Cities rally behind armed forces

GUJRAT: Political parties, civil society organisations, bar associations and journalists in several cities held rallies and demonstrations on Wednesday to condemn the alleged Indian aggression inside Pakistan.
Citizens vowed to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the armed forces in defending the country.
In Gujranwala city, a major rally was led by Commissioner Naveed Haider Sheerazi and Deputy Commissioner Naveed Ahmed.
Participants, carrying banners and flags, marched on GT Road and through other parts of the city, expressing unwavering support for the military and con-demning Indian aggression.
In Gujrat, a similar candlelight vigil was held at Fawara Chowk in front of Anayat Park.
Deputy Commissioner Safdar Virk, DPO Dr Mustanser Atta Bajwa, Assistant Commissioner Bilal Zubair and members of various civil society groups participated.
Speakers denounced the attacks as acts of Indian cowardice and praised the Pakistani forces for their timely and brave response.
Rallies and vigils were also held in Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Jalalpur Jattan, Lalamusa and Sara-i-Alamgir.
SAHIWAL: In Pakpattan, the press club and Pakistan Media Council organised a rally that started at the press club and con-cluded at Nageena Chowk.
Journalists and PML-N MPA Javed Ahmed led the protest.
Also, the district administration and police held a flag march to reassure residents.
Deputy Commissioner Maria Tariq and DPO Javed Chadhar addressed the media. They said the armed forces are capable of defending the homeland and responding firmly to any hostility.
DERA GHAZI KHAN: A grand rally was held in Dera Ghazi Khan to express solidarity with the armed forces. Led by MPAs Ahmad Khan Leghari and Salahuddin Khan Khosa, along with Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Usman Khalid and DPO Syed Ali, the event drew massive public participation.Political figures from PML-N, including Mir Mirza Talpur, Malik Irshad, Zafar Tahir Mastoi, and Abdul Hameed Jalbani, joined the rally. The President of the Bar Association Abdul Ghani Khosa, lawyers, social activists, and citizens from all walks of life also took part.
Chanting slogans like `Long Live Pakistan` and `Long Live Pakistan Army,` participants made it clear that Pakistan`s dignity and security would be defended at all costs. Speakers warned India not to mistake Pakistan`s desire for peace as weakness and vowed to raise the issue on political, diplomatic, and legal fronts.
The rally concluded with special prayers for national security, unity, and prosperity.
