SWAT: The police on Wednesday arrested a man along with a son over the murder of his wife. Theincident took place in Swat`s Rahimabad area on April 13.

The man initially tried to pass off the incident as an accident caused by electric shock.

The victim, 40, was found dead in the bathroom of her home.

However, based on suspicions raised by the victim`s brother, Abdul Salam, a detailed inquiry was launched.

Medical reports, statements from local authorities, and expert analysis confirmed that the woman`s death was a deliberate act of murder According to the findings, the victim`s husband, Noorul Haq, along with his son from a previous marriage, Umeedullah, conspired to kill her and then attempted to simulate burn marks to portray the murder as an accidental electrocution.

Following the confirmation of foul play, a formal case was registered against the accused.

PROMOTION: Thirtytwo assistant sub-inspectors from various districts of Malakand division have been promoted to the rank of sub-inspector.

According to a press release issued here on Wednesday, the confirmation was decided at a meeting of the departmental promotion committee chaired by Regional Police Officer Sher Akbar.They are currently serving in Swat, Shangla, Buner, Lower and Upper Chitral, Lower and Upper Dir.

RPO Sher Akbar congratulated the promoted officers and urgedthem to perform their duties with honesty, diligence, and a strong sense of responsibility. He emphasised ensuringthe safety oflife and property of the public and upholding the dignity of the police force.
