T HE Kashmir issue has always been vital for Pakistan to discuss whenever any foreign official, particularly from the United Nations, visited Pakistan. When United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) President Volkan Bozkir landed in Pakistan for a three-day visit to Pakistan recently, we reiterated our commitment to the Kashmir cause.
We asked him to intervene in the Kashmir issue on which the UN Security Council (UNSC) has passed several resolutions. He was reminded that the status of Kashmir had been revoked by India`s fascist regime about one and half years ago.
The Indian government`s plan is no secret now, for it is planning to follow the UNSC`s resolutions once they have domiciled their `preferred` masses in occupied Kashmir. India under new law has allowed its citizens to acquire occupied Kashmir`s domicile and land.
According to the figures released by Pakistan government, 43,000 Indians have been issued the domicile of occupied Kashmir so far.
If this demographic change is not stopped, it will create many hurdles for Pakistan to have a transparent plebiscite under the relevant UNSC resolutions.
Pakistan must act timely and seek the attention of the world to this plan of the current f ascist regime in India before it is too late.
