APROPOS a news item `10 district hospitals managements to be privatised` (June 20).
This is a welcome decision by the government.
I believe the government has failed to provide healthcare facilities as enshrined in article 38-D of the Constitution. Such incidents of medical negligence are rife, and only a few are reported by the media.
My suggestion is that the posts of all heads of teaching hospitals in Punjab should be advertised and only capable and competent personnel from public and private sectors should be selected to bring healthcare within reach of the common people.
