KARACHI: The low pressure area lying over southern parts of Sindh continued to influence the city`s weather on Tuesday, causing light rain in some parts of the metropolis and reducing its temperature.
The maximum temperature dropped from Monday`s 40.3 degrees Celsius to 36 degrees Celsius on Tuesday.
Humidity, however, remained high with 79 per cent recorded in the morning and 74pc in the evening.
According to the Meteorological department, 2mm rain was recorded in Landhi and 1.6mm rain in and around the Jinnah Terminal.
Traces of rain was recorded in F. B Area, Pehalwan Goth, Gulshan-iHadeed, University Road/ Gulistan-i-Jauhar and Keamari whereas no rainfall was recorded in areas including Nazimabad, North Nazimabad, Saddar and Surjani.
`The low pressure area over southern Sindh hasn`t made any movement so far and the department has forecast a similar weather pattern for Karachi in the next 24 hours, which means partly cloudy, humid weather with chances of rain/thunderstorm,` said Met department spokesperson Sardar Sarfaraz.
