Rain expected during Eid

RAWALPINDI: With more rain expected in the twin cities during Eidul Azha, the Met Of fice has issued a warning of flash flooding in local nullahs.

According to the warning, heavy rain may cause urban flooding in Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Peshawar, Faisalabad, Lahore, Gujranwala and Sialkot on July 9 and 10. Travellers and tourists have been advised to remain extra cautious during the forecast period.

Flash flooding is expected in local nullahs of Islamabad and Rawalpindi, Kashmir, Bolan, Kalat, Khuzdar and Lasbella during the forecast period.

Rainfall may trigger landslides in Kashmir, Galiyat, Murree, Chillas, Diamir, Gilgit, Hunza, Astore and Skardu.

Monsoon currents will weaken during the next 24 hours and maystrengthen in the country during the weekend. Under the influence of this weather system, according to a statement, more rain is expected in Islamabad, Kashmir, Swat, Mansehra, Kohistan, Abbottabad, Haripur, Peshawar, Mardan, Swabi, Nowshera, Kurram, Kohat, Mianwali, Sargodha, Hafizabad, M. B Din, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sheikhupura, Faisalabad, Jhang, Sahiwal, Okara, Kashmir, Murree, Galiyat and Dir.

Rain and winds (with isolated heavy falls) are expected in Mirpurkhas, Dadu, Karachi, Hyderabad Thatta, Badin, Zhob, Ziarat, Barkhan, Loralai, Bolan, Kohlu, Quetta, Kalat, Khuzdar, Lasbella, Awaran, Naseerabad, Sibbi, Panjgur and Turbat on July 8 and 9. Staf f Reporter
