FIA asked to add absconder in Jazlan murder case to no-fly list

KARACHl: An antiterrorism court on Wednesday directed the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to place on the Exit Control List (ECL) the name of an absconding suspect in the Jazlan murder case to bar him from leaving the country.
The ATC-XVI judge, who is conducting the trial in the judicial complex inside the central prison, also issued a non-bailable arrest warrant for the absconder, Ahsan Faiz, and directed the investigating officer to arrest and produce him before the court on Sept 21.
Three brothers Muhammad Hasnain, Irfan Faiz and Ahsan Faiz along with their father Muhammad Faiz and friend Inshal have been charged with shooting to death Jazlan over a `trivial` dispute in Bahria Town Karachi.
At the outset, 10 Aslam Jutt appeared along with police papers and informed the court that a fourth nominated suspect, Ahsan, was still absconding since his bail was dismissed.
The judge issued a non-bailable warrant for his arrest and also directed the FIA authorities to place his name on the no-fly list to bar him from fleeing abroad.
Advocate Mushtaq Ahmed filed power on behalf of suspect Muhammad Hasnain and submitted that his client`s age was 16 years and he was entitled to legal concessions under the provisions of the Sindh Juvenile Justice System Ordinance 2000.
He added that the case against Hasnain be bifurcated and trial be conducted separately from the adult suspects. Granting the plea, the judge bifurcated the case of Hasnain.
