TOBA TEK SINGH: Pakistan must replace its old, redundant and costly melting and casting process with new Turkish technology to save its light engineering sector which is on the verge of collapse due to high cost of energy, says FCCI president Atif Munir Sheikh.
Addressing an awareness session organised by FCCI in collaboration with the Foundry Association here on Wednesday, he said the sessionhadbeenarranged to give awareness to localfoundry owners about cost effective Turkish technology.
He said that Turkish experts should not only give lectures and presentations but they must demonstrate this technology in selected local foundries.
He said a large number of houses in Gujranwala had been convertedinto a small industrial units where parts of electronics appliances were being manufactured.
He said that FCCI had inked MoUs with NTU, UAF and GCU to provide practical training to interns.
