UET students briefed on Orange Line Metro

LAHORE: Lahore Development Authority (LDA) engineers briefed on Wednesday the students of the University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Lahore, about the Orange Line Metro project.

The varsity organised a seminar titled `Orange Metro Train` where UET Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Fazal Ahmad Khalid urged the students to take part in the project.

The LDA additional chief engineer said the Chinese company, executing the project, had estimated the total cost of the project Rs90 billion but `we will complete it at a cost of Rs48 billion`.

He added the `package one orange line` started from Dera Gujran to Chauburji and the total length of the project was 27 kilometres.

He said after the completion of the civil work the project would be handed over to China and the total completion time was 27 months. Staff Reporter
