HYDERABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party-Parliamentarians (PPP-P) information secretary Maula Bux Chandio on Saturday advised Pakistan Tehreek-iInsaf chairman Imran Khan to adopt political attitude while dealing with other parties, and said hurling of abuses at opponents could not be appreciated.
He was speaking to reporters at the residence of PPP`s Hyderabad division president Ali Nawaz Shah Rizvi after a meeting of party`s divisional leaders and workers that discussed arrangements for the Oct 18 rally in Hyderabad which would be addressed by PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, besides other central leaders.
Mr Chandio said that Hyderabad hadbeen destroyed in the past by those who were repeatedly elected from here and who held the portfolio of local government.
`PPP has done so many things in the city for people`s betterment but destruction is so widespread that the party`s development works took a back seat,` he said, adding that there were loads of problems and it would take time to get them resolved to restore glory of Hyderabad.
He said that Zulfikar Ali Bhutto`s `political heir` would be visiting Hyderabad on Oct 18. `PPP has its stakes here which it never lost. It doesn`t believe in any `finger` as it believes in God and masses and they both never left PPP in the lurch,` he said, and hinted that in his address, Mr Bhutto-Zardari would speak about the country`s integrity and its people`s prosperity, besides other national issues. He criticised leaders of rival par-ties for always hurling abuses at their opponents in their speeches. Mr Chandio said that PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari was currently busy in a mass contact campaign across the country. `This has baffled our opponents and made them sleepless ... that`s why they keep hurling abuses,` he remarked.
The senior PPP leader said that one political leader had always been ready to become prime minister. `He delivers his speech as if it was his address to the nation,` said Chandio, and added that the leader should show national attitude and discuss national issues instead of insulting opponents.
`Imran Khan always discusses personalities ... PTI chairman may keep dreaming but he is a defeated individual who cannot become a national leader ... he used to be a national hero because of cricket buthe is seeking to harm that image too.
Mr Chandio said that PTI should forget about conquering Sindh because it (that party) did not exist here and Sindh politically belonged to Bhuttos alone.
He warned that the PTI leader would be paid in the same coin if he didn`t stop using indecent language.
Mr Chandio claimed that PPP understood what PTI was planning for by seeking change of the leader of the opposition in the National Assembly. However, he added, PTI would not succeed in its attempt.
Interestingly enough, he observed, Imran Khan was now thinking of becoming the opposition leader. PPP Sindh information secretary Senator Aajiz Dhamra, Local Govt Minister Jam Khan Shoro, All Nawaz Shah Rizvi and Saghir Qureshi also spolce.
