LAHORE: The PML-N members will lodge a `strong protest` on Thursday (today) during the Punjab Assembly session against the arrest of its president Shahbaz Sharif.

`The agenda of the Thursday PA session is to lodge a strong protest against the arrest of Shahbaz Sharif,` former Punjab government spokesman MPA Malik Muhammad Ahmad told reporters after the party`s parliamentary meeting presided over by Opposition Leader in the Punjab Assembly Hamza Shahbaz in Model Town here on Wednesday.

He insisted there were no solid legal grounds for arrest of Shahbaz Sharif.

Mr Ahmad said the PML-N was not interested in doing the politics of lock down.`(PM) Imran Khan and his party did politics of lock down of cities when they were in the opposition but we will not follow suit, he said and added those hurling fatwas and threats at the Supreme Court and the army should not be pardoned.

`The government should take strict action against those involved in arson attacks during the protest,` he added.

To a question, he said the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf could find a number of `miscreants` in its own ranks and could dispatch them to the space as suggested by federal information minister Fawad Chaudhry. Ahmad also asked the PTI government to fulfill its promise of providing 10 million jobs and five million houses to the people.

Replying a question about any plans to toppie the Punjab government, he said: `ThePML-N is not working on any such plan.

Earlier, former PML-N provincial minister Rana Mashhood said Prime Minister Imran Khan maligned Pakistan in his speeches during his foreign tours.

`Imran Khan cries over corruption in Pakistan on his foreign tours which is earning a bad name for the country,` Mr Mashhood told a press conference.

Defending the Punjab Education Foundation, he claimed the PML-N government had given `the best model`.

`We had also established model schools in Punjab. The sitting education minister has no vision for education,` he added.

To a question, he said no forward bloc was in the making in the PML-N.

He said there had been a big question mark on the performance of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB). `I had writ-ten to the NAB to make public if they had anything against me,` he added.

Meanwhile, the PML-N has included five more members in the committee constituted to develop a roadmap for the party`s reorganisation.

The 23-member central organising committee will be headed by acting secretary general of the party and former interior minister Ahsan Iqbal.

The new members are: Musaddil( Malik, Muhammad Zubair, Mian Javed Latif, Javed Ali Shah and Jamal Shah Kakar.
