LAHORE: The Punjab cabinet committee on law and order on Thursday approved posting of Rangers for the security of Isakhel Cadet College, Mianwali.
The cabinet committee also decided that the monitoring cameras, already purchased by the Punjab government, would primarily be used for prospective cricket series as well as other security duties in the province.
Punjab home secretary Noorul Amin Mengal briefed the cabinet committee headed by health minister Khwaja Salman Rafique about the law and order situation in the province.
The cabinet committee also approved release of five convicts on parole with a direction that they would do their duties at least 300 kilometers away from their native districts.
It may be mentioned that the government allows release of convicts, before completion of jail term, on parole for their good conduct in jail besides their education and technical skills.
The cabinet committee also directed the best possible security for Raiwind congregations. The committee chairman stressed that the traffic plan should be implemented in its letter and spirit during the Raiwind congregation in Lahore.
