IN the past PIA, being a national career, used to offer a 30pc concession to students to encourage them to visit various parts of the country on educational trips.
Subsequently, it was reduced to 20pc.
Recently, we had a bitter experience of dealing with it, while finalising air tickets for 60 students from Karachi to Islamabad and back on an educational trip. The PIA website stated a return fare of Rs17,472 per person for the desired flights and dates.
When we contacted PIA hoping to receive discount, they quoted Rs.19,121.
This is very strange that PIA does not provide concession to students` on educational trips, rather it charges students more.
