Lahore Bar election today

LAHORE: The Lahore Bar Association`s members are all set to elect their new cabinet for the year 2015-16 on Saturday (today).
As many as 15,620 LBA members would exercise their right to vote in the polling at the Judicial Complex from 9am to 5pm. To facilitate the voters, 10 polling booths would be established, including one for women.
There would be a close contest for the top slot of president between Chaudhry Tanvir Akhtar and Arshad Jahangir Jhojha, candidates of two traditional rivals, Hamid Khan-led Professional Group and Asma Jahangirled Independent Group, respectively.
Mr Jhojha is trying his luck second time as he had lost the previous year election to Chaudhry Ishtiaq A. Khan of Professional Group with a close margin. He has served as vice president of the bar while Chaudhry Tanvir Alchtar was once elected as secretary.
For the two seats of vice presidents, nine candidates are in the run. They are Irfan Sadiq Tarar, Rana Saeed Anwar, Sheikh Sohail Zahoor, Naveed Chughtai, Shahid Maqsood Bhalla, Syed Zahid Abbas Sherazi, Mian Muhammad Arif, Ejaz Basrai and Mian Abbas Shahzad.

For two slots of secretary, Ch Irfan Ali, Humayun Abdullah, Babar Humayun Chohan, Naeem Chohan, Murtaza Arif Khokhar, Javed Hashmi, Mian Sultan Asghar, Mureed Ali Bhutta, Sarfraz Chaudhry, Shahid Nawab Cheema, Sajjad Aslam Virk andFaisalManzoorChaudhry are contesting election.
Adnan Sindhu, Tayyaba Mubarak, Mohsina Ch, Alia Atif Khan and Sajjad Rana are vying for the office of joint secretary. For the slot of finance secretary, Imtiaz Gujjar, Riffat Tufall Malik, Razia Sultana and Shahid Ali Bhatti are in the run.
Muhammad Imran Malik has already been elected unopposed as auditor.
